ROOM XV: INQUIRY HUMAN TIMELINE!

ROOM XV: INQUIRY HUMAN TIMELINE!
Group 3 ready for action
On Monday the whole of Te Manawa did a fantastic practice of a human timeline. We performed in front of the Te Manawa teachers and some students from Room 17, and they were wearing special dark blue shirts to show they were a special audience. Later that day we performed for the junior school.

History in Action!

I was the narrator for my group and I was also the head leader. As the group leader I had to give everyone particular parts so we could work together to show in a freeze frame. Each group was showing a key event from
World War 1.

August 4th 1914!

As the narrator I had to tell my audience five things about our freeze frame and what our freeze frame was about. I had to tell the audience the five most important things about it.

Awesome!

When I finished talking the teachers said that I did an awesome job and that I thought that I was in the ‘Awesome Cycle’. Everyone in my group did great.

Freeze Framing conflict resolution!

Today, on the 30th of March, Te Manawa and Room XV made an awesome human timeline on the field. Group 3 did a freeze frame to show what happened on 12th October 1917. I was in Group 3. We went to the field to practice, and then we performed for the juniors. On Tuesday we will perform for the seniors. It was fabulous and exciting.

ROOM XV: Writing in Action!

ROOM XV: Writing in Action!

Josh’s WW1 Moment In Time

I see bombs exploding. It’s getting nearer and nearer to me.

I hear gun shooting, going bang, bang near me.

I see dead soldiers on the battlefield. They have guns with bullets.

I see no other food. All I can eat is hard tack. When there is no hardtack I will starve like a hungry bear.

I can't drink water.

I feel no energy left for running.

I see trench that is dark like the night.

Friday 27th March2015( MMXV)

Room XV presenting to everyone!

We had the idea to have our assembly by having everyone in Room XV sit in a U-shaped letter. Then Mr Cowlrick chose our part in the assembly then we had to practice all parts of our roll. We all had to write our own scripts and we were all the main presenters.

Afterwards we went into the hall to practice on the stage to get our confidence up to a good level so we were not scared when we spoke to the whole school on assembly day.

Hrs Hanline and the Travelwise crew join Room XV

Then on Friday we practiced lots of times so we were prepared to speak in front of the whole school. And THEN it was SHOW TIME!!!!!

The first presenters were Felise and Samantha. They both were the introducers of the National Anthem so once Felise said “ATTENTION!” Room XV would stand.

SPS is spellbound!

Later I presented Levi the bear to the class who sat up the best during assembly. That was Room 9.

I enjoyed assembly because we were hosting it and we got to show our stuff.

On Saturday my sister and I went to Eden Park for the International Cricket World Cup match. South Africa was playing Pakistan. I was going for Pakistan.

Me and my sister walked up to the bus stop. We caught 502 to the Ellerslie train station. We went to the Ellerslie train station. We then caught the train from Ellerslie to Kingsland. Then we trotted up to Eden Park. Me and my sister were full excitement. I said to my sister, “Is this a dream?”

When me and my sister were at Eden Park my sister got yummy hot chips and my sister also got sugar donuts. They were also yum. Then the big screen showed the players and the crowded went wild. The screen showed the two captains from Pakistan and South Africa.

When both teams came out the crowd went wild. South Africa wanted to take a blow first. South Africa got 10 wickets and Pakistan also got 10 wickets, so Pakistan won by 29 runs and Pakistan won in 48.5 overs.

I had a great time at Eden Park. I didn’t get go for the whole thing but I had a good time.

It was fantastic. You should of watched them! I just can’t stop talking about it. The actors really enjoyed themselves and the directors were really good.

Meliame acting and directing!

I was the director for my groups play. This meant that I had to give people roles. They were all happy with what I did. My group did an amazing play!
I look forward to my next chance to perform an amazing play in Room XV.
