Room 18 2014: Singing For Partnership

Room 18: 2014
Singing For Partnership

Whaea Emma leads the way!
2014 has been lit on fire by the vocal styling's of Room 18 & the Middle School.

Super keen!

This year’s focus is allowing the students to ‘Make Their Mark,’ and this is not just in the classroom. The Room 18-anauts have shown to be keen and rather talented in the singing arena where our school song, the ‘Pepeha Song’ is being perfected by a diverse bunch of musical  exponents.

Whaea Maxx, Mr Naidoo and Whaea Emma lead the musical journey!

In Room 18 we are learning about partnership and are learning to understand New Zealand’s bi-cultural heritage. The Pepeha Song is perfect for bringing our school and learning together.

The students of Room 18 are on their way to a path of lifelong learning.

Room 18: 2014 Making & Keeping Promises

ROOM 18: 2014
Making Promises and Keeping Them

Geshvin & Ayla discuss what makes a good partnership

As a part of our inquiry into what making a promise entails, what it means to make a promise and what one means to those who partake in such arrangements, Room 18 made their own promise: a promise to each other and Sylvia Park School.

Room 18's co-constructed Class Treaty lines the classroom wall.

Room 18 constructed a class treaty which outlines how the signatories will behave, act and learn this year at SPS. The entire class signed and are all looking forward to honouring their promise.

Creation in Action

The treaty was constructed by the students, for the students. Room 18 looks forward to even more investigation into what makes a promise and how to keep them.

ROOM 18: 2014
OUR STUDENTS MAKING THEIR MARK
Micol and Alyssa: positive students!

2014 has begun in Room 18, with students lighting-up their own educational fires as they embark upon another journey of discovery and enjoyment.
The Room 18'ers look eagerly towards 2014!

This year our focus is allowing the students to ‘Make Their Mark.’ They will do this by answering the Inquiry question this term, “What makes a good partnership?”
Room 18
In Room 18 we will be looking at New Zealand’s founding document, the Treaty of Waitangi, as well as looking at other areas where promises and trust are vital.

The Room 18 students have begun their 2014 journey. The future is wide open.
