Room 18 were once again taken down the ‘Art Path’ with Sylvia Park School’s very own artist, Whaea Dagmar.





Whaea Dagmar introduced the concept of ‘cubism’ and introduced the students to the work of Pablo Picasso. The students were enthralled as Dagmar took the students through every step!

Room 18 began to produce their own ‘Picasso Portraits.’ The level of creativity buzzing in the class was too high to measure!

Room 18 amazed Whaea Dagmar with their work and produced fantastic art for the school to enjoy!

Room 18: Film Festival of Change!

Room 18: Film Premiere!

Anahere prepares to view the films of change!




Room 18 walk, travelwise, done Longford St on their way to Hoyts. 


Room 18 attended the premiere of their class film about change, ‘Kid Prime Minister,’ this week. Many students chose to dress up in their best 'red carpet' outfits.

They viewed their own film as well as all the other SPS classes’ films at Hoyts Sylvia Park, on the world’s largest 35mm screen!


The Room 18 students went on a fantastic journey to Sylvia Park mall to see their film. The journey was well worth it!

Room 18 amazed viewers by the quality of their acting, writing and camera work. The reaction was universally fantastic to ‘Kid Prime Minister.’

Room 18: Film For Change

Film For Change Begins!

Room 18 have decided upon an idea, written a script and storyboarded what their final project may very well end up looking like.

The film for change is all go!

Ariana, working with the wardrobe crew, models various costumes that may be used in the final film.




The class is working to produce a film, currently titled, ‘We are Kid Prime Minister,’ starring the entire class and made by them as well.

They will use the film to answer the question, “How can I tell a story about change through film?”
