The Room 18ers set the Sunsmart tone!
Room 18 and all of the awesome Te Manawa got to have an incredible Friday afternoon as the team was rewarded with a Sunsmart day of sports and sportsmanship!

Te Manawa sportsmanship in action!

Students, in their most awesome hats, sunglasses and sunscreen, competed to see who had the best sportsmanship.

Sunscreen!

Students were put into interclass teams who then competed in a wide range of sports, including touch and netball. Points were awarded for wins, but more were given for awesome sportsmanship.

A wonderful game of Touch!

Students celebrated their endeavours with laughter in the knowledge that they were practising what they were learning; being Sunsmart is the Te Manawa way.

Room 18’ers are beginning their learning quest to become ‘Sunsmart Scientists’ by tackling the science head on.

Working together - learning together.

The young scientists are beginning their learning journey by looking into what the sun is and how it affects them and the people around them.

This quest will lead them back to ‘hauora’- last visited in 2013 – and onto even more amazing horizons.

Dance Trip
On the bus!

After an awesome term learning about dance, the mega-students of Te Manawa had a magnificent final day of Term 3; travelling to Western Springs and seeing their dance mentors one more time for a show of awesome dancing.
The bus trip was also a highlight as the students sang songs, haka and rejoiced in the new learning experience.
The exciting bus trip was amazing!

Sefa and the Pacific Dance group, who had visited SPS several times to teach sasa, presented a show for our students to marvel at, and be inspired by.
Sefa presented 'Fresh Moves New Zealand,' a modern hip-hop dancing group that illuminated a fantastic morning.
Students await the awesome dance!
The Dance Excites!

The students appreciated the dance that they had seen and this only served to further their interest in dance!
Thank you Sefa, Pacific Dance and Fresh Moves NZ!
